Building a Fund. Sharing everything I know along the way

I co-founded Future Africa, where I helped deploy $10M+ across more than 50 companies and built a syndicate of over 300 angel investors from all over the world. That experience showed me the possibilities that exist in funding private assets.

I saw who got funded, who got the chance to invest, and who didn't — and how much of the difference came down to information: who had it, and who was never handed it.

Today I'm building Spirit Capital, an early-stage consumer fund backing female founders in beauty, food, fashion, and wellness. I'm betting the next billion-dollar businesses will be consumer businesses with a high Cultural Coefficient: deeply rooted in a specific culture and in the founder's own lived experience, with products that translate across global audiences. Culture is the most underpriced asset there is. My portfolio includes Texture Science Labs, makers of ReGirl.

I write and teach about the world of venture capital, private investing, fundraising and how it actually works — for founders, angel investors, for people trying to break into VC, and for anyone building a fund for the first time.

I speak, coach, mentor and advise founders one-on-one, and I also work with accelerators and funds.

My faith in Jesus is the foundation of my life, and I write and share about faith, life and different musings.

When I'm not working, you can find me making exciting food from scratch, eating chocolate, running or curled up with a book.
